The Department of Neurosurgery at Government Thiruvarur Medical College & Hospital provides surgical care for disorders of the brain, spine and nervous system. The department manages neurosurgical emergencies, including head and spinal injuries, as well as planned surgical treatment of conditions affecting the nervous system.

Neurosurgical care is delivered in close coordination with the emergency and trauma services, Anaesthesiology, Neurology, Radio Diagnosis and the critical care units, with careful perioperative monitoring and planned rehabilitation to support recovery.

Patient Care

The department provides outpatient and inpatient neurosurgical care and emergency neurosurgical consultation, working with the trauma and critical care teams in the management of patients with severe head and spinal injuries.
