As a part of CBME curriculum, First MBBS students are given exposure by visiting the Wards (I. V Fluid management), Blood Bank (Blood Collection and Storage), Nephrology (Dialysis procedure), and Neurology OPD. This enables the students to correlate the basic science taught and clinical applications of the same, which provides a relevance and meaning to their learning. Also increases interest in basic science subjects.
As a part of CBME curriculum, First MBBS students are taught the Longitudinal, Structured AETCOM module as suggested by NMC, enables the students learn the Ethics and Communication, Principles of Empathy etc.
As a part of CBME curriculum, First MBBS students are trained in the Computer Assisted Learning module in Amphibian Nerve, Muscle experiments and Cardiac experiments as per the NMC guidelines.

Our department is well equipped with the following:
Members of the faculty of the Department of Physiology are involved in collaborative research with various clinical Departments. We have been guiding medical students in ICMR — Short Term Student projects.
As per the NMC directions for CBME curriculum. At the end of Third MBBS-Part I and Start of Third MBBS Part-II, Students who opt physiology for the elective postings are trained in the following elective postings for BLOCK-I:
