Book Expo 22-09-2025 to 24-09-2025
A medical book exhibition was inaugurated on 22.09.25. by our respected Dean, Professor Dr.C.Ashokan., MS(ortho)., D(ortho), at Govt Thiruvarur Medical College. The event, organized by the Library Committee, aimed to promote academic enrichment, encourage reading habits among students, and showcase the latest publications in the field of medical sciences.
The exhibition featured a wide range of medical literature, including recent textbooks, reference works, journals, and specialized volumes covering subjects from basic sciences to clinical practice. Several publishers and distributors participated, offering valuable insights into current trends in medical education and research.
Eye Donation Awareness Fortnight-Prize Distribution 10-09-2025
Eye awareness fortnight celebration concluded successfully with awareness speech followed by prize distribution to the various competitions held.
Eye Donation Awareness Rally - 10-09-2025
District Blindness Control Society, Thiruvarur and Department of Ophthalmology conducted Eye Donation Awareness Rally at GTMC. The rally was inaugurated by Thiruvarur District Collector in the presence of Dean, GTMC. Medical Superintendent, Vice Principal, Resident Medical Officer, ARMO, Professors, Associate Professors, Faculties of various departments, Matrons, Nursing Staffs, Undergraduate Medical students and Paramedical students participated in the Rally. Slogans about Eye donation was chanted during the Rally. Pamphlets about eye donation awareness was distributed to the public.

As a part of National Eye Donation Fortnight 2025, Eye Donation Awareness program was conducted at Govt upgraded PHC Alangudi under the guidance of our Dean Sir, GTMC. Dr. Sivakumar, District Program Manager, DBCS, Dr. Anbuselvi, Professor and HOD, Department of Ophthalmology, GTMC, Dr.Kathiravan, Block Medical Officer, Mr.Swaminathan, PMOA and Mrs. Nithya, Optometrist participated in the program along with 40 to 50 patients and public people.
